Who We Are

The Trusted Paws team is as passionate about providing quality service to you and your pet as they are about the mission we strive toward. In Arizona, there is a massive pet overpopulation problem, compounded with very high costs to go to the vet. This is where we come in.

We specialize in High Quality spay/neuter surgery, dental surgery, and wellness, meaning we can be much more affordable without sacrificing the quality of care your pet receives. We are partnered with several rescues and shelters throughout the Valley, proudly providing our important services. Please go to our scheduling tab to schedule a service, whether it be sterilization or routine medical care!

Meet the Team

Taylor Sloekers, DVM - Veterinarian, Owner

While she has always been an animal lover, Dr. Sloekers has found her true passion in connecting with and serving pet owners of all backgrounds in her community. She believes that all pet owners should have access to affordable veterinary care, which, combined with her love of surgery, has led her to pursue a career in affordable spay/neuter.
Born and raised in Gilbert, Arizona, Dr. Sloekers obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Arizona State University, then went on to graduate from Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine. On the weekends, you can find her curled up with a good book on the couch at home with her cats, Scout and Clementine.

Ryan Sloekers, DVM - Veterinarian, Owner

Dr. Sloekers was first introduced to the concept of high volume spay/neuter while in veterinary school, and he immediately knew this was the field for him. He is as passionate about providing the best possible care to each and every patient as he is helping people who need it most, and Trusted Paws allows him to do both every day. Dr. Sloekers also considers spay and neuter to be an essential part of preventative medicine, helping set up your pet for a long and healthy life.
Also an Arizona native, Dr. Sloekers grew up in Glendale, Arizona, graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, and obtained his doctorate from Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine. While he loves all animals, it’s no secret that he has a soft spot for pitbulls and will never hesitate to give any pitbull patients a little extra love.

Chris Wedwick, MD - Managing Partner

Chris has been around pets his whole life and is an Arizona native. Chris graduated from ASU with a biology degree and obtained his doctorate degree from the University of Arizona. He now manages Trusted Paws, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience for pets and owners alike. During his free time, he enjoys playing with his (rescue) dog, Mason, and going for hikes.

Sydney Miller, C.V.T. - Certified Veterinary Technician

Sidney obtained her CVT degree from Pima Medical in 2016 and has been in the high volume spay/neuter field since 2015. When she’s not at work cuddling our feline and chihuahua patients, she’s usually at home cuddling her two cats, Shrimp and Cuppie, and her four chihuahuas, Podie, Rosie, Pearl, and Touie.

Roz Harris - Veterinary Technician

Roz went into high volume spay/neuter directly out of vet tech school in 2016 and hasn’t left the field since. As much as she loves taking care of your pets, she loves interacting with their owners even more, so if you see her, don’t hesitate to say hello!

Lucas Talley - Veterinary Assistant

Lucas’ love for animals goes far beyond our typical canine and feline patients. Growing up on a farm, Lucas has lifelong experience with dogs, cats, horses, sheep, cattle, and more. Lucas plans on one day becoming a veterinarian and opening his own mixed animal practice.

Kailey Tomblin - Veterinary Assistant

Kailey has been involved in animal welfare for 4 years, working as a high volume spay/neuter technician, technician at a local rescue, and even has experience in dog training. In her free time (when she’s not at Disneyland…), you’ll likely find Kailey outdoors camping, hiking, and kayaking.
