Frequently Asked Questions

Spaying and neutering are terms that refer to sterilization of your pet. There are several benefits of sterilizing your pet, both from a behavior standpoint as well as a general health standpoint. These are just a few:

  • No accidental pregnancies or litters. This can be a very expensive side-effect of not having your pet sterilized. Sterilization (and not having accidental litters) helps the overpopulation problem in Arizona.
  • Eliminates the possibility of pyometra (a life-threatening uterine infection), and testicular, uterine, and ovarian cancers, and significantly decreases the likelihood of breast and prostatic cancers.
  • Behaviors of animals can improve with sterilization. Animals tend to show less aggression, and cats tend to stop marking their territory by ‘spraying’.

Please call or send us an email so that may promptly help you schedule your appointment. You can also use the ‘contact us’ form, located on our website. Our team will get back to you as quickly as possible to get you scheduled!

This is our deposit for scheduling a spay/neuter with us. This ensures we have a consistent and reliable schedule, so we may serve as many pets as we possibly can. Your deposit will be applied to your total amount due.

Should you need to reschedule your appointment, your deposit will be applied to your pet’s newly scheduled surgery date. In the event that you must cancel your appointment with us, your deposit will not be refunded.

Female dogs and cats who are in heat at the time of surgery will still have the hormones released in their system during their heat cycle present in their bloodstream for several days after surgery. If your pet is bleeding from their vulva at the time of surgery, they may continue to do so for up to 3 weeks after the procedure.

Male dogs and cats can still impregnate unsterilized females 1-2 weeks after their surgery. For this reason, we strongly advise that you separate your pet from any unsterilized females in your home during this time period.

All suture material used in the spay or neuter of your pet is placed underneath the skin, so you will not be able to see it. If there is an instance in which external, or visible, sutures are used on your pet, the veterinarian and staff will be sure to point these out to you. Male cats will NOT have any internal sutures.
